I’m doing it.  Reading the Psalms slowly.  I’ve decided not to move to the ‘next’ Psalm till I’ve seen something new and beautiful in each. Something about my Father in heaven, something about me too I pray.

Psalm 1 is a well known and beautiful Psalm.  Talking about the one who dwells, thinks on, chews on, God’s truth in the Bible.  God then says in verse 3 that this person is…

…like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season….

For someone who is perpetually driven, I realise this is an incredibly freeing statement. “In its season”.

We’ll have fruitful seasons, and, we might have seasons where we produce seemingly little fruit. Times of frustration and futility.

So don’t despair if you feel a little thin on the branches. A season isn’t to be rejected. It may be you’re surviving a winter to bloom come summer.

Seasons.

    Hi Rob,
Very pleased to see you are reading Psalms. One of my favourites is Psalm 34, I actually memorised when I was 10 when I was living in a place you know well. I will have a read of Psalms as well, you have inspired me.
    Stay happy Rob.
    Lawrie
