Deadwood in Arkansas
An afternoon hiking in north-west Arkansas revealed a beautiful corner of the state known by few. Some fallen trees over a creek in a beech forest are a memory of that slice of the world.
Slicing and Dicing
A late-night rally rescue attempt. Not a perfect technical shot, but just a quick snap on the night. Great sense of movement, motion. I enjoy the contrast and colours.
Luna Park Sydney
The glow of Luna Park under the northern end of Sydney’s Harbour Bridge has long been a synonym for Sydney harbour views at night. I grabbed this shot one evening while walking through the famous landmark with some friends and family.
Jakey
My little nephew never ceases to impress me with his reservoir of emotion. This brief moment captures a pause between scenes as Jake considers his next exciting foray into life.
Golden Light Cafe – Route 66
A brief halt at Route 66’s advertised oldest cafe for a lovely chat with the owners and probably the best burger I had in the States. The Cafe’s long history is documented in a quilt of photos on the near wall while locals chat and smoke in the back.
The Skyliner on Route 66
One of the many classic ’60s hotel signs from this typically named motel. This one was still operating with a likely advertised price of $19 per person as are many of the old hotels along this road.
Jökulsárlón – Iceland
Few places I’ve been to compare with the incredible iceberg lagoon situated on the south east of Iceland. Fiilled with hundreds of icebergs, they slowly make their way out to the ocean via this vast lake. The 40 minutes spent astride a small zodiac deep in the lake were certainly some of the most memorable moments of my life.
Wonder
An afternoon of pennant making reminded us of some of the simple pleasures of life. The word ‘wonder’ for me defines one of the most beautiful aspects of humanity.
People I love 2
My sister and her identical friend deep in thought attempting to select a movie recently.
People I love
My sister’s birthday was celebrated with cake and candles in the warm interior of our home.
“Dear God, help me to live for you today.”
I can’t pray this anymore.
