Amsterdam Enlightenment

Amsterdam is indeed a place of enlightenment. Wandering the streets, the city walls divulge a treasure of truth. A deep lesson we must all ponder.

Shared moment north of the Atlantic

A gull resting on the beach at Vik, Iceland. Completely undeterred by our presence it allowed me to crawl up to within a few centimetres of it for this shot. The jet black sand, mist and white feathers are a dramatic contrast.

Taken with my indestructible Olympus Tough 8000 this picture just goes to show that you don’t require the most expensive camera to capture something special.

Green dress and blue carpet

My sister’s green dress and white shoes provided a fantastically simple and clean shot recently while shopping for videos near our home.

Six Foot Track

A man-weekend away with my mate Nick.  We sure showed all the hikers, with their mini tents, mini sleeping bags, mini food…

West of Berufjordhur – Iceland

A unrepeatable valley leading to Berufjordhur – Iceland.  The thin dirt road leading up the valley was the only alternative to a long paved route via the main highway accommodating trucks and cars alike in a few meter wide trail. This picture in no ways does justice to the vast scale of that place.

Night-Time at Geneva

The grass at Geneva, Latrobe, Tasmania speaks of memories, clean air and family.

The top of ‘The Nut’ – North West Tasmania

A beautiful place, in my favourite part of the world. A memorable afternoon spent with my late cousin makes this picture special in more ways than one. The crystal colours, clean air and typical Tasmanian experience continues to remind me of why I love that small island so much.

Deadwood in Arkansas

An afternoon hiking in north-west Arkansas revealed a beautiful corner of the state known by few. Some fallen trees over a creek in a beech forest are a memory of that slice of the world.

Luna Park Sydney

The glow of Luna Park under the northern end of Sydney’s Harbour Bridge has long been a synonym for Sydney harbour views at night. I grabbed this shot one evening while walking through the famous landmark with some friends and family.

Golden Light Cafe – Route 66

A brief halt at Route 66’s advertised oldest cafe for a lovely chat with the owners and probably the best burger I had in the States. The Cafe’s long history is documented in a quilt of photos on the near wall while locals chat and smoke in the back.
