Completely undeterred by our presence it allowed me to crawl up to within a few centimetres of it for this shot. The jet black sand, mist and white feathers are a dramatic contrast.

Taken with my indestructible Olympus Tough 8000 this picture just goes to show that you don’t require the most expensive camera to capture something special.
